| In late August 1969 the streets of Brno filled with young people in unplanned demonstrations to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the Soviet invasion a year earlier. The demonstrators were quickly confronted by police and violence erupted. To mark the 40th anniversary of these events a TV documentary has been made and there is an exhibition in Namesti Svobody. The documentary is available to watch on the Czech TV website. It is bizarre to see these events taking place in the streets we use everyday.
