brno damm/ nudist beach anyone ?

went yesterday, nice place, lovely lake 7km long surrounded by trees, several restaurants and places for a swim. we took a boat trip which stops at various places.
there is even a nudist beach if that is your thing, probably 50 nudists. good day but very hot.

Need to travel to Rome/other European cities on Friday or Saturday. Anyone travelling?

We are four guys and looking out to travel to Rome for the long weekend. Unfortunately tickets are not available or are too expensive. Anyone knows an option where we can get tickets cheaply? Or is anyone travelling to Rome so that we can carpool?

Since the plan is for a 3-4 day vacation to some good place in Europe (other than Vienna, Prague, Berlin or Salzburg), if you are going to any other tourist destination or got tickets for the same, we are ready to consider those also. Since we have very little time left, it is appreciated if I get a response as early as possible. I can also be reached at +420 608 52 62 82.

Ride of the Kings

This is the big one as far as folklore fans are concerned . The "Jizda Krale" takes place on the last weekend in May (28/5 -30/5) in and around the village of Vlcnov, South Moravia. It really is the biggest spectacle of its type around these parts and attracts crowds from far and wide. Plan ahead esp in terms of transport, accom etc.

Any Hiking Groups active in this area?

I'm looking for some (serious) hiking buddies,
I prefer the woods just north of Brno proper, but I'm open to suggestions.

Train Trip

There's a nice train trip on Sat 8th May from Brno back to Brno all around South Moravia. You can get off and on at various points. The main attractions are Mikulov, Lednice, Valtice, wine cellars of course and much more. Bikes go free!

It leaves Brno main station just after 9.00am. Read more (in Czech!) the Pdf at the bottom is the timetable.

Have a nice day!

Sentice

We went on a rather rigorous hike Sunday from Kurim to Zlobice, then on to Malohostovice for a beer, then climbed the hill and walked Cebin and then to Sentice to a small brewery that serves 15 degree honey beer for 30Kc. We asked the waiter if they served food as we were famished and he called the cook and the guy came over. The food was really good, big portions and cheap. I got the grilled chicken breast with salad and bread for 90Kc.

At the pub they only serve the 15 degree on tap, but you can buy a liter and a half plastic bottles of 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15 degree beers for 58Kc to go or to drink there. The beer is unpasteurized, unfiltered, no chemicals and they use honey instead of sugar.

If you don't want to do the 10-15Km hike up various hills, you can just take a train to Cebin and walk about 2.5Km to Sentice.

They also sell it in Brno if you don't feel like leaving home.
