Hello.
My name is Slawomir and I am a new member for the expat forum but not exactly a newly fledged expat.
Firstly, I am looking for an opportunity to have a proper discussion, to air my views and even have an argument, if that should be intellectually stimulating.
Secondly I am looking out for somebody to have chatter in Norwegian/Swedish with. Honestly I craving for some communication in Scandinavian as currently am on kind of rehab.
Thirdly – if you are a French speaker and want to give private lessons in this charming language you have got a student. It remains to agree on the price.
Greetings to all expats in the city.
Slawomir
Hi Slawomir,
I live in Brno for a few months now and I'm a french native speaker so if you're still looking for some help to improve your french I would be very happy to help you
(even for free!).
I work for Monster Worldwide and we a have 2 (or 3, I'm not sure) people coming from Sweden. I don't know them very well but I could maybe try to introduce you to them.
If you are interested you can send me a message via the website or you can find me on facebook (I've joined the Brnoexpats group and I'm the only Aurélia you'll see in the list of members
).
Have a nice evening!
Aurélia
I so far have no plans for Friday or Saturday night as usually I get off work, shower then one of my friends comes up with a plan, but normally we drink in a pub, preferable with Svijany and a free table, then go to Metro Club for late night dancing and drinking. The only definite plans I have is watching the Saints playoff game on Sunday.
Hi,
In case you guys feel like having one more person in the company - feel free to drop me a message at yal_miasma@hotmail.com

Far helvita! I don't know if it's spelled correctly, but my colleague is from Malmo, he's half Swedish, half Danish and can speak both fluently and is always excited to speak to someone in Swedish/Danish or Norwegian. Email me your contact details and I'll pass them on to him when he gets back from Sweden
Hi mate,
Correctly enough for me to get it in one nanosecond. I see your chap has learnt you one of the most vital expressions in Scandinavia.
Other than that I really appreciate your speedy reply. On one hand I reckoned that there are some Scandinavians within reach in Brno but on the other hand I kind of expected It would take quite a while before my post brought any results. My contact details are as follows:
Slawomir Budziak
yal_miasma@hotmail.com
Apart from that - what about your self? Do you live in Brno? Do you participate in the expat community live in Brno?
greetings
I live in Brno, I'm American, been here almost 5 years in Brno, but I lived a few months in Cesky Krumlov and Nymburk. In Krumlov is where I met my Swedish friend/colleague. I've been to several of the meeting, missed a few in summer and fall due to holidays and my parents visiting.
I and my friend haven't come across many Scandinavians living in Brno. We one time met some Finnish Erasmus students watching a Sweden Finland hockey match in a sports pub, but naturally they didn't want to speak Swedish with my friend, although he told me all Finns have to learn several years of Swedish in schools.
My mate has a brother called Andi, who is a pretty well known musician in Malmo, he visits several times a year and usually does a concert when he comes. Also, some of their other friends from Malmo usually visit here at least once a year.
Also, got a Norwegian friend who lived in Krumlov for ages, but he's back home now and not sure when he'll come back.
I'll pass your details on to my friend.
Cheers, Andre
Hi Tyvole,
By any chance looking for company for Friday/Saturday evening? I am trying to find some people to go out with.
greetings
S.
Slawomir welcome,
Firstly - there is a faint possibility I could be of some help here, but it does of course depend in which language you intend to argue
Secondly - I have visited Stockholm a couple of times, if that helps
Thirdly - again, 5 years of French at secondary school probably doesnt qualify me for this, but I am very cheap
However, if I'm the best offer you get
or you fancy a beer and a chat sometime maybe we could work something out
Hi Hviezda,
Cheers. That is what I call a good offer. As far as arguing is concerned that is what I resort to when the other more preferable modes of expression, like mockery, chaff, talking rubbish and teasing seem not to get me anywhere.
So let us have chatter. I will be away for some days. What I suggest is that when I am back we meet in a nice company - the more the merrier - and ... well, let us just meet and find out what happens when a bunch of talkative people open their mouths over a pint.
for now enjoy Christmas time
greetings
S.
