The drain snake...

Hi,

There is a device one can purchase called the drain snake. It is for unblocking blocked drains/sinks etc.

Its a bit like a big flexible cork screw which you put down the drain, and it finds its way through your pipes and allows you to clear the blockage.

Does anyone know where in Brno one might find such a device?

Ive tried that stuff. It didnt work. Short of cheap nuclear waste, I think the blockage will have to be physically removed.

On a side note, is it common in the czech republic for the washing machine outlet to feed directly into the bath?

The Czech stuff for cleaning drains is called Krtek (mole) you can buy it at that old drogerie on Panska or similar. Crazy

Or they have some chemicals you can dump down there, similar to Draino, but I can't remember what it's called.

Drain snake...

In town try Cimmerman on Masarykova or Vichr near Malinovskeho Namesti, they are both old fashioned ironmonger type places. Or I guess the big DIY places; Hornbach, Bauhaus etc.
