Hitler's Highway?

When I first moved to Brno I remember somebody pointing out a large concrete structure to me and telling me that it was part of a planned but later abandoned expansion of the autobahn network during the Third Reich. If my memory isn't playing tricks on me the structure(s)are up around Bystrc/Kohoutovice way and are the supports for the highway rather than the road itself. I think one of them is visible from the dam part of Brno "dam". Can anyone fill in more details?
